Eric's Biography
http://www.midvalekarting.com/.
Eric has a Sr. Champ Kart and a Dirt Modified, he is in his 6th year of racing.
Eric's career started out on dirt tracks in Marietta and Cambridge, Ohio and West Virginia on go-kart tracks and stock car tracks. His first kart was a Mini-Wedge. He posted 9 feature wins with 21 top five finishes in that car alone. When Midvale Speedway started a karting Club in 2007, it was good to bring Eric's racing closer to "home". The mini-wedge was sold and a Jr. Champ kart was purchased to now run on ashpalt. The kart is equipped with a 5hp Briggs and Stratton engine that runs on alcohol. A roll cage, five-point harness, arm restraints, fire jacket and neck collar to protect him. In his 1st year on asphalt for 2007 in a Jr. Champ, he posted 4 feature wins, 8 top 5 finishes, 8 heat wins and finished 2nd in the points championship at Midvale Speedway.
It has always been Eric's dream to race at the NASCAR level. He is 16 years old and a Sophomore at New Philadelphia High School in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Racing has always been in his blood, as his father Ed raced in the 70's, 80's and 90's in stock cars on asphalt and dirt. Eric's grandfather, the late Walt Singhaus had owned stock cars that ran at Midvale Speedway in the 50's and 60's. Eric carries his dad's number 45.
Sponsors help out tremendously in keeping Eric's dream "alive". It is an expensive sport to be able to race competitively week after week. We are so grateful for the support of Mike Davis and Adventure Harley-Davidson in addition to our other sponsors. They are for 2010:
